On 24 November the meeting of foreign ministers and representatives of the Baltic states, the Visegrad Group countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia and Hungary), Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, and Sweden was held in Warsaw, Poland.

On 2 October 2008, the Enhanced Partnership in Northern Europe (e-PINE) consultations open in Vilnius, Lithuania, in which the Latvian delegation is being headed by the Foreign Ministry's Political Director Peteris Ustubs.
Annual meeting of Baltic and Nordic foreign ministry state secretaries to be held in Tallinn [30 Sep 2008]
The annual meeting of the state secretaries of Baltic and Nordic foreign ministries (Nordic-Baltic-8 or NB-8) will take place in Tallinn, Estonia on 1 to 2 October. Latvia will be represented by Under-Secretary of State Ilze Juhansone.
Foreign Minister Riekstins to go on working visit to Sweden [26 Aug 2008]
On 27 August, Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins will go on a working visit to Sweden, where he will meet with Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt and Goran Lennmarker, the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Swedish Parliament.

On 18 August, as one of his accreditation visits, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to Latvia, Mats Arne Staffansson, called on Foreign Minister Maris Riekstins.
